You run a containment facility. It is understaffed, underfunded, and somehow still standing.

Dispatch probe teams to the surface, drag back whatever they find, and stick it in a cell before the paperwork catches up with you. Study your specimens to boost your output. Reinforce them before instability crosses the line. Try to remember that “somewhat sentient” and “line item” aren't supposed to be the same category.

CONTAINMENT is a browser idle/incremental game about corporate mismanagement of the supernatural.

What you'll be doing

• Sending probe teams on three different mission profiles — a cheap Quick Sweep for common specimens, the balanced standard run, or an expensive, slow Long-Range Incursion that dramatically improves your odds at Rare-or-better signatures.

• Managing up to 40 containment cells, each holding a procedurally-generated specimen with its own name, rarity tier, and traits (Volatile, Resonant, Symbiotic, and more) that change how you play them.

• Studying specimens to level them up — and watching the instability bar climb every time you do. Reinforce in time, or eat a containment breach.

• Chasing six rarity tiers, from common Crawlers and Mudroots all the way up to Singularity-class entities that shouldn't exist yet.

• Unlocking dozens of achievements with actual mechanical rewards, not just a badge — plus a growing Archive of lore entries written by the staff who are, technically, still employed.

• Spending Directive Points on permanent facility perks through the Deep Containment prestige loop, and picking a specialization that actually changes how you play (Bulk Processing, Selective Containment, or Apex Priority).

• Meeting Dale, the quartermaster nobody remembers hiring, and Goobie, an unscheduled visitor who is very good for morale and very bad for the org chart.

A sample of what you're in for

“Apex specimens observe the observers. Please stop making eye contact with the containment glass. We know who you are.”

— Facility Log, Entry 019

“Deep Containment purges the floor but not the debt. Directive Points remember everything the spreadsheets don't.”

— Facility Log, Entry 027

How to play

Runs entirely in your browser — no download, no install. Progress saves automatically as you play. Leave the tab open or come back later; the facility keeps running (partially) without you, up to your offline cap.
